Welcome to Red Oaks Radio!

We're a friendly group of amateur radio enthusiasts based in Red Oaks. We're excited to connect with you and share our passion for radio communication!

Our website changes frequently, so check back any time. We'll be filling it with useful resources and information for the RV community and Red Oaks specifically. Our club callsign is KQ4ZII . Feel free to join us on our local repeater at

KI4DYE (145.490 MHz PL 123.0).

Whether you're a seasoned ham or just curious about amateur radio, we welcome you to join our community!

Red Oaks Frequencies Handheld or mobile or base unit
Ham Radio Calling frequency: we use the national calling frequency of 146.520 for calling each other, if using handhelds. Normally we will move off of that for extended conversations, to something like 146.550 or 146.490 MHz (simplex) or to the local repeater at 145.490 for better coverage. Ham Radio

As a reminder for either or any of those frequencies, you can listen any time you want, and no license is required to listen. You can receive us on a walkie-talkie or scanner or anything you have handy.

There is another GMRS repeater nearby, in Wildwood FL which is on 462.700 MHz (also using DCS023 for access). This super repeater has good coverage into Bushnell and beyond, and is a good candidate for you if you need to reach beyond the RV resort. Our local repeater on 600 is a low-power repeater and is designed to cover Red Oaks and CR 48 in Bushnell, and I-75 nearby.

For even better coverage on two meters there is the K4HOG 147.030 repeater in nearby Sumterville. Caution: if you key this repeater up you will not hear a squelch tail. It is a C4FM Yaesu repeater but all of the WIRES functionality has been disabled. If you are using it with a node, the repeater owner requests that you delay speaking for three seconds so the non-radio users will be able to hear what you say. And other rules apply. See K4HOG.ORG for details.
